...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Kansas...Missouri... Missouri River at Leavenworth affecting Leavenworth and Platte Counties. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Missouri River at Leavenworth. * WHEN...From Friday evening to Monday evening. * IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, Lowland flooding occurs along the east and west banks of the river. At 22.3 feet, Water enters Riverfront Park in Leavenworth. In addition, 2nd Street at the waste water treatment plant is closed due to high water. Persons should vacate the park to avoid the loss of life and property. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:00 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 6.4 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late Friday evening to a crest of 21.2 feet early Saturday afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage late Sunday evening. - Flood stage is 20.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
