Pearl River Near Monticello affecting Lawrence County. * WHAT...No flooding is currently forecast. * WHERE...Pearl River near Monticello. * WHEN...Until late this evening. * IMPACTS...At 22.0 feet, Water inundates some lowland and agricultural land near the river. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:15 AM CDT Monday the stage was 21.7 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall to 11.3 feet Saturday morning. - Flood stage is 22.0 feet.
What the agency told people to do
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
