* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Kimble County in west central Texas... Mason County in west central Texas... Southeastern Menard County in west central Texas... Southeastern Sutton County in west central Texas... * WHEN...Until 330 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 932 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is already occurring in the warned area. Between 3 and 8 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Junction, Mason, South Llano River State Park, Segovia, Yates Crossing, London, Saline, Telegraph, Roosevelt, Long Mountain, Streeter, Grit, Hilda, Hedwigs Hill, Art, Loyal Valley, Cleo, Us-83 Near The Kimble-Menard County Line, Us-83 Near The Kerr-Kimble County Line and Us-377 Near The Kimble- Menard County Line. - This includes Interstate 10 between Mile Markers 412 and 477. This includes the following Low Water Crossings... What the agency told people to do
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
