Wapsipinicon River near Anamosa Shaw Rd affecting Linn, Jones and Cedar Counties. Cedar River near Conesville affecting Louisa and Muscatine Counties. Iowa River at Oakville affecting Louisa County. Iowa River at Wapello affecting Louisa County. North Skunk River near Sigourney affecting Keokuk County. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring. * WHERE...North Skunk River near Sigourney. * WHEN...Until late tonight. * IMPACTS...At 16.0 feet, water affects agricultural land, some county roads, and farm houses. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:30 AM CDT Monday the stage was 17.2 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage this evening and continue falling to 7.4 feet Monday, October 12. - Flood stage is 16.0 feet.

What the agency told people to do

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks. The next statement will be issued by late tonight.
