...The National Weather Service in Des Moines has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Iowa... South Skunk River at Colfax affecting Jasper, Marion and Polk Counties. Des Moines River at Des Moines SE 6th St affecting Marion, Warren and Polk Counties. North Raccoon River near Perry affecting Dallas County. North River near Norwalk Hwy R57 affecting Warren and Polk Counties. South River near Ackworth affecting Warren County. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...South Skunk River at Colfax, or from the Jasper-Polk County Line to the Jasper-Marion County line. * WHEN...From Thursday afternoon to Sunday morning. * IMPACTS...At 19.0 feet, Water affects the earthen levee west of town near the sewage disposal area. Evacuations may occur on the northwest side of Colfax. Flooding occurs in Reasnor. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:45 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 12.1 feet, and rising. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage early tomorrow afternoon to a crest of 19.5 feet early Friday morning. It will then fall below flood stage early Sunday morning. - Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
