* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Greeley County in west central Kansas... Wichita County in west central Kansas... * WHEN...Until 300 PM MDT /400 PM CDT/ Tonight. * IMPACTS...Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 818 AM MDT /918 AM CDT/, emergency management reported multiple roads still flooded. Flooding is already occurring. Between 3 and 7 inches of rain have fallen. - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Leoti, Tribune, Horace, Selkirk, Lydia and Marienthal.
What the agency told people to do
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
