Rain is coming to an end across the area, however it will take time for the flood waters to recede in Greeley and Wichita counties. Many roads remain closed in the area. * WHAT...Urban areas and small streams flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Greeley County in west central Kansas... Wichita County in west central Kansas... * WHEN...Until 545 PM MDT /645 PM CDT/. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 243 PM MDT /343 PM CDT/, emergency management reported very heavy rainfall leading to numerous roads being washed out or flooded across the warned area. Between 2 and 6 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.2 inches are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Leoti, Tribune, Horace, Selkirk, Lydia and Marienthal.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
