West Fork Big Blue River Near Dorchester affecting Seward and Saline Counties. Turkey Creek Near Wilber affecting Saline County. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Turkey Creek near De Witt. * WHEN...Until Sunday evening. * IMPACTS...At 28.0 feet, Floodwaters begin to impact the town of DeWitt, similar to what was experienced in 2015. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:45 PM CDT Friday the stage was 26.9 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 7:45 PM CDT Friday was 26.9 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 27.2 feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below flood stage Sunday afternoon. - Flood stage is 23.5 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 27.2 feet on 03/16/2019. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

What the agency told people to do

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
