The notice as issued
* WHAT...Flooding caused by earlier excessive rainfall is ongoing. * WHERE...Southeastern York County in east central Nebraska... Northwestern Fillmore County in south central Nebraska... * WHEN...Until 700 PM CDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1110 AM CDT, various rainfall observations, automated river gauges, and ground-truth reports from observers indicated that at least 2-4 inches of rain had fallen within the area over the last 24 hours, resulting in continued flooding along area creeks and rivers. Specifically along the West Fork Big Blue River in Fillmore and York counties, an automated gauge north of Grafton reported a stage of 12.9 feet at 1100 AM CDT, which was 1.9 feet above minor flood stage of 11.0 feet. As a result, widespread flooding of pastures and fields along the river continues, as confirmed by an observer in the McCool Junction area. Going forward, it is likely that water levels along the West Fork Big Blue River will remain in minor flood stage until at least sometime on Friday before slowly falling below flood stage, but exact timing is a bit uncertain as upstream water continues to feed into the river from smaller creeks. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Elk Run Creek, Stone Creek, Antelope Creek, West Fork Big Blue River, School Creek and Galaway Creek. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... McCool Junction, and rural areas along the West Fork Big Blue River both upstream and downstream of McCool Junction. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
