Missouri River at Hermann. River forecasts are based on observed precipitation and forecast precipitation for the next 48 hours. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Missouri River near Chamois. * WHEN...From Monday morning until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 17.0 feet, Flood Stage: Lower lying bottom land begins to flood. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:00 AM CDT Friday the stage was 5.8 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage Monday morning and continue rising to a crest of 19.3 feet early Tuesday afternoon. - Flood stage is 17.0 feet.

What the agency told people to do

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Rainfall heavier than forecast could cause river levels to rise even higher than predicted.
