Cedar River near Conesville affecting Louisa and Muscatine Counties. Iowa River at Oakville affecting Louisa County. Iowa River at Wapello affecting Louisa County. Iowa River at Marengo affecting Benton and Iowa Counties. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring. * WHERE...Iowa River at Marengo. * WHEN...Until Saturday afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 16.0 feet, Water affects agricultural land along the river. Water is several feet deep in places. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:00 PM CDT Monday the stage was 15.6 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 16.6 feet Thursday evening. It will then fall below flood stage Saturday morning. - Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
What the agency told people to do
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks. The next statement will be issued by Tuesday evening.
