For the Purgatoire River...including Purgatoire near Las Animas... Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Purgatoire River near Purgatoire R near Las Animas. * WHEN...Until Sunday morning. * IMPACTS...At 12.0 feet, Moderate Flood. Moderate agricultural flooding occurs in low lying areas along the river. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:15 PM MDT Thursday the stage was 9.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 8:15 PM MDT Thursday was 9.5 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 10.8 feet tomorrow evening. It will then fall below flood stage Saturday evening. - Flood stage is 9.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 10.5 feet on 08/19/2004. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
