* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Southeastern York County in east central Nebraska... Southeastern Adams County in south central Nebraska... Clay County in south central Nebraska... Fillmore County in south central Nebraska... Northern Nuckolls County in south central Nebraska... Northern Thayer County in south central Nebraska... Northeastern Webster County in south central Nebraska... * WHEN...Until noon CDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 155 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated that much of the Warning area had picked up at least 2.5 to 5 inches of rain in the last 24 hours. At least minor flooding of several rural roads is likely. Area creeks and rivers will also experience at least significant within- bank rises, and mainly minor flooding of some main rivers is also possible. The Little Blue River near Grafton has risen into minor flood stage and is likely to remain in minor flood stage through the morning. Additional off and on light rain remains possible today, mainly during the morning, before rain completely ends for several days. - This includes the following streams and drainages... West Fork Big Blue River, Turkey Creek, Little Sandy Creek, Beaver Creek, Big Sandy Creek, Pawnee Creek, School Creek, Sleepy Hollow Creek, Scott Creek, Buffalo Creek, Johnson Creek, Walnut Creek, South Fork Turkey Creek, Galaway Creek, Stone Creek, Dry Sandy Creek, Dove Creek, Little Blue River, Thirtytwo Mile Creek, Dry Run Creek, Liberty Creek and Oak Creek. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Geneva, Sutton, Harvard, Clay Center, Exeter, Fairmont, Edgar, McCool Junction, Fairfield, Shickley, Glenvil, Milligan, Waco, Grafton, Ohiowa, Ayr, Deweese and Ong. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

What the agency told people to do

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
