Central Victoria County in south central Texas... * Until 1245 AM CDT. * At 944 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Victoria, Victoria Riverside Park, Downtown Victoria, Victoria College, Victoria Detar Hospital North, Ball Airport Area, Victoria Mall, Victoria Colony Creek Country Club and Saxet Lakes. This includes the following highways... US Highway 59 near mile marker 638. US Highway 77 between mile markers 572 and 576...and near mile marker 584. US Highway 87 between mile markers 808 and 814.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
