FFWSJT The National Weather Service in San Angelo has issued a * Flash Flood Warning for... Northeastern Taylor County in west central Texas... * Until 330 AM CDT. * At 1231 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area of up to 2 inches in some areas. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Abilene, Tye, Buffalo Gap, Caps, Dyess Afb, Potosi, View, Hamby, Impact and Kirby Lake. This includes Interstate 20 between Mile Markers 275 and 292. This includes the following Low Water Crossings... Intersections along Buttonwillow Parkway, Butternut Underpass, Intersections along Sammons Street, Texas Avenue at Arnold Boulevard, Curry Lane from Clack Street to Catclaw Drive, South 27th Street at Catclaw Creek, FM 3308 crossing Draw, 2000 block of Oak Street, Antilley Rd. crossing Button Willow Creek and Broken Bough At Chimney Rock.

What the agency told people to do

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
