FFWOAX The National Weather Service in Omaha/Valley has issued a * Flash Flood Warning for... Southwestern Lancaster County in southeastern Nebraska... Northeastern Saline County in southeastern Nebraska... Southeastern Seward County in southeastern Nebraska... * Until 200 AM CDT. * At 1056 PM CDT, emergency management reported flooding in Crete and other portions of Saline County, with numerous stranded cars. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Emergency management reported. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Crete, Denton, Walnut Creek Recreation Area, Conestoga State Recreation Area and Bluestem State Recreation Area.
What the agency told people to do
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
