Queens County in southeastern New York... * Until 745 PM EDT. * At 452 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain approaching the warned area. The expected rainfall rate is 1 1/2 to 2 inches in 1 hour. Rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 1/2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Jamaica, Valley Stream, Garden City, Mineola, Woodmere, Rockaway Beach, Kennedy Airport, Forest Hills, Canarsie, Elmont, Howard Beach, Ozone Park, Cedarhurst, Little Neck, Sheepshead Bay, Franklin Square, Floral Park, Inwood, New Hyde Park and Malverne.
