FFWTAE The National Weather Service in Tallahassee has issued a * Flash Flood Warning for... East Central Dale County in southeastern Alabama... Henry County in southeastern Alabama... Clay County in southwestern Georgia... Quitman County in southwestern Georgia... Randolph County in southwestern Georgia... * Until 745 AM EDT /645 AM CDT/. * At 442 AM EDT /342 AM CDT/, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1.5 to 4 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Abbeville, Fort Gaines, Cuthbert, Shellman, Newville, Bellville, Fort Gaines-Clay Airport, Days Crossroads, Standleys Store, Watson Crossroads, Walter F George Lake, Pecan, Moores Crossroads, Walter F. George Lock And Dam, Jones Crossing, Bagby State Park, Bethel, Garnersville and Cotton Hill.

What the agency told people to do

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
