FFWFGZ The National Weather Service in Flagstaff has issued a * Flash Flood Warning for... Coconino County in north central Arizona...This includes the Colorado River between river miles 85 and 87...and between river miles 90 and 98. * Until 600 PM MST. * At 259 PM MST, local law enforcement reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.25 to 0.75 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Law enforcement reported. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, normally dry washes, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Pima Point, Hermit's Rest, Monument Creek Vista, Hopi Point, Maricopa Point, South Rim Visitors Center, Pipe Creek Resthouse, Pipe Creek Vista, Yaki Point, Grand Canyon Village, Plateau Point, South Rim, Devil?s Corkscrew and Skeleton Point. This includes the Colorado River between river miles 85 and 87...and between river miles 90 and 98. This includes the following recreation areas and campgrounds... Flooding of washes and creeks will occur, some dirt roads will become muddy and impassable. Paved roads and underpasses could become flooded as well.
