Affected Areas

South Cornwall coast from Lizard Point to Gribbin Head excluding the Tidal Fal Estuary, in Cornwall. Areas at risk include Cadgwith, Coverack, Porthallow, the tidal Helford Estuary, Maenporth, Swanpool, St Mawes, East Portholland, Gorran Haven, Portmellon, Mevagissey, Pentewan and Par.

What You Should Do

Avoid coastal roads, footpaths and carparks which may be flooded. The Environment Agency is closely monitoring the situation.

Expected Conditions

High tide at Falmouth at 19:26 on 30 August. Forecast total high tide level is 2.7m AOD with tides 300-310mm over tide table level. Force 6 SW winds and wave heights over 2m expected.

Timeline

Flooding possible 2 hours either side of high tide on Sunday evening 30 August 2026. Coastal conditions should ease by Monday morning's high tide. Message to be updated by 1:00PM on 31 August 2026 or as the situation changes.
