Orange EV Recalls T-Series and e-TRIEVER Trucks Over Door Lock Safety Standards
Orange EV is recalling 139 terminal trucks because driver's side door handles may lack locks, potentially causing doors to open during a crash.
What Happened
Orange EV (OEV) is recalling certain terminal trucks because the driver’s side door handles may be missing a lock. Due to this defect, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 206, “Door Locks and Door Retention Components.”
Which Products Are Affected
The recall affects approximately 139 units. The following models and year ranges are included:
- 2018-2023 Orange EV T-Series Pure Electric terminal trucks
- 2024-2026 Orange EV e-TRIEVER terminal trucks
What You Should Do
Orange EV field service will replace the affected door handles free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed by April 13, 2026. Owners may contact Orange EV customer service at 1-866-688-5223. The manufacturer’s internal number for this recall is 2026-SRC-01. Owners may also reference NHTSA campaign number 26V102000.
Why This Matters
A vehicle door that cannot be properly locked may open unexpectedly during a crash. This failure to remain secured increases the risk of injury to the driver or occupants during an accident.
