Honda and Acura Recall 130,270 Vehicles for Software Errors Affecting Displays and Rearview Cameras

Vehicle Recalls high NHTSA · · United States

Honda is recalling 2024 Prologue and Acura ZDX models due to a software error that can cause the instrument panel and rearview camera to fail, increasing the risk of a crash.

What Happened

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) has initiated a recall for certain 2024 Acura ZDX and Honda Prologue vehicles due to a software error. This defect may cause the instrument panel display to fail and can result in the rearview camera displaying a blank screen when the vehicle is shifted into reverse. Consequently, these vehicles do not comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) numbers 101 (“Control and Displays”), 111 (“Rear Visibility”), and 305 (“Electric-Powered Vehicles”).

Which Products Are Affected

The recall affects a total of 130,270 units. The specific models involved are:

  • 2024 Honda Prologue
  • 2024 Acura ZDX

What You Should Do

Owners of the affected vehicles are advised to contact an authorized dealer to receive a software update for the vehicle radio control module. This service will be provided free of charge. Owner notification letters are scheduled to be mailed on April 20, 2026.

Consumers may contact Honda’s customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda’s internal reference numbers for this recall are TNL and XNK. Additionally, Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) for the affected units will be searchable on the NHTSA website starting March 4, 2026.

Why This Matters

An instrument panel that fails to display critical safety information, such as the speedometer or warning lights, prevents the driver from monitoring essential vehicle functions. Furthermore, the loss of a rearview camera image reduces rear visibility while reversing. Both conditions significantly increase the risk of a crash or injury.
