The notice as issued
Blizzard conditions with potentially damaging winds and persistent visibility near zero in snow and blowing snow. When: This morning. Where: Dempster Highway near the Richardson Mountains. Remarks: A stationary ridge over the Beaufort Sea combined with a low pressure system over Alaska is creating favourable conditions for strong easterly winds along the Dempster Highway. Winds gusts up to 90 km/h, together with falling snow and snow already on the ground, will result in blizzard conditions and near zero visibility. Winds are forecast to ease this morning. Travel will likely be hazardous in some locations. Road closures are possible. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to YTstorm@ec.gc.ca or post reports on social media using #YTStorm.
