Lit by Lada Candle Co. is recalling approximately 500 soy wax candles because the flames can reach abnormally high levels, posing a risk of fire and personal injury.
What Happened
Lit by Lada Candle Co. has issued a recall for its soy wax candles due to a fire hazard. The candle flames can reach abnormally high levels, which can lead to fire, property damage, and personal injury. As of February 23, 2026, the company has received no reports of abnormally high flames or injuries in Canada.
Which Products Are Affected
This recall involves Lit by Lada Candle Co. soy wax candles sold in various scents. The affected products were sold in 4 oz, 8 oz, and 16 oz jars. Approximately 500 units were sold in Canada between May 2024 and December 2025. The products were manufactured in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
What You Should Do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled candles and contact Lit by Lada Candle Co. for a return and refund. For more information, consumers can contact the company via email at [email protected] or visit the company’s Instagram page @litbyladacandleco.
Under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act, it is prohibited to redistribute, sell, or give away recalled products in Canada. Health Canada also encourages consumers to report any health or safety incidents related to this product by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form.
Why This Matters
The recall is significant because abnormally high candle flames pose a direct risk of fire and property damage. While no injuries have been reported to date, the potential for uncontrolled fire makes immediate consumer action necessary.
