What You Should Do
If outside, find safe shelter away from trees, power lines, storm water drains and streams. Close curtains and blinds and stay inside away from windows. Unplug electrical appliances and do not use land line telephones if there is lightning. If boating, swimming or surfing, leave the water. Be alert for hazards on the road such as fallen power lines and loose debris. Keep away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways. Be careful of fallen trees, damaged buildings and debris. Treat fallen power lines as live. Assess home, car and property for damage and take photos for insurance. For significant damage, call the SES on 132 500.
Expected Conditions
Damaging wind gusts of around 90 km/h are possible near Albany and inland to the Stirling and Porongurup Ranges on Saturday afternoon, shifting towards Esperance by early Saturday evening. The strongest gusts are expected to occur with showers and thunderstorms.
