Severe Weather Warning (IDN21037) issued by the Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) for damaging winds. Issued at 11:46 pm Wednesday, 19 August 2026. Warning is high severity and in new phase.
Affected Areas
Parts of South Coast and Snowy Mountains Forecast Districts in NSW, including higher elevations of southern NSW ranges and Alps. Specific locations that may be affected include Thredbo, Perisher Valley and Charlotte Pass.

Park your car under secure cover and away from trees, powerlines and drains. Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony. Keep at least 8 metres away from fallen power lines or objects that may be energised, such as fences.
