Alert Details
Severe Thunderstorm Warning (IDN21033) issued by the Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) for damaging winds and large hailstones. Issued at 2:18 pm Wednesday, 26 August 2026, with expiry at 8:18 pm the same day.
Affected Areas
Parts of Northern Rivers Forecast District in New South Wales. Locations which may be affected include Grafton, Maclean, Whiporie, Copmanhurst and Ulmarra.
What You Should Do
Park your car under secure cover and away from trees, powerlines and drains. Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony. Keep at least 8 metres away from fallen power lines or objects that may be energised, such as fences. Report fallen power lines to Ausgrid (131 388), Endeavour Energy (131 003), Essential Energy (132 080) or Evoenergy (131 093). Stay indoors away from windows, and keep children and pets indoors. For emergency help in storms, ring the SES on 132 500.

Isolated severe thunderstorms are occurring about the northeast of NSW ahead of a southerly change moving up the coast. Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds and large hailstones in the warning area over the next several hours.
