BOM has issued a Flood Watch (warning_id: IDN36503) for parts of the Mid North Coast and Northern Rivers. The alert was issued at 12:49 pm AEST on Monday 18 May 2026 and remains in effect until 08:49 am AEST on Tuesday 19 May 2026.
Affected Areas
The watch covers catchments including the Tweed and Rous Rivers, Wilsons River, Richmond River, Orara River, Coffs Coast, Bellinger and Kalang Rivers, and Nambucca River. Minor flooding is possible in these areas.

Expected Conditions
A trough and cloud band will produce widespread rain over north east NSW during Monday and overnight into Tuesday. Heavy rain is possible in the afternoon and evening with thunderstorms. Catchments are wet to moderately wet, leading to expected river level rises.
