What this ACCC vehicle recall tells you, and what most readers miss

This notice was issued by ACCC on August 17, 2026 and geographically references Australia. Its severity classification of "high" signals how the issuing agency weighs the risk of harm if no action is taken - "critical" and "high" tier alerts typically carry direct consumer actions, while "medium" and "low" tend toward informational guidance or monitoring advisories. The category it belongs to - Vehicle Recalls - determines the consumer-protection framework behind it, which shapes what remedies (refunds, replacements, repairs, or the recall itself) are available to affected consumers and which agency holds statutory responsibility for enforcement.

Most readers skim a notice like this, check whether they are personally affected, and move on. The more useful lens is to verify its scope, source, and timestamp, then compare related notices without assuming that one record proves a broader trend.

Areazine pairs this record with the original agency URL so you can check the primary source before acting. Its related labels are recall, product-safety, accc, Gas products and appliances.

What Happened

The diaphragm inside the gas regulator can fail, causing the regulator to leak LPG gas. Incidents of the regulator failing and leaking LPG gas have occurred.

Which Products Are Affected

Compact metal regulator (Model: RV-One HDJYF1001-1, AGA approval: 9191) fitted to the gas system of Snowy River and Newgen caravans. The regulator is mounted on the A-frame at the front of the caravan. Affected chassis numbers are listed on the recall notice; the chassis number is engraved on the A-Frame and on the compliance plate inside the tunnel boot.

What You Should Do

Stop using the regulator immediately and ensure both gas bottle and regulator are turned off. Contact Regent RV via the customer portal to arrange for a licenced gas fitter to replace the regulator free of charge. Call 1800 485 031, email recall@snowyrivercaravans.com.au (Snowy River) or recall@newgencaravans.com.au (NewGen), or visit https://snowyrivercaravans.com.au/recall-lookup-chassis-search/.

Why This Matters

Risk of serious injury or death if the gas leaks near an ignition source and causes an explosion or fire, or by asphyxiation if gas builds up in an enclosed space.
