Snow and Blowing Advisory: what it means and how often it is issued

The National Weather Service issued 303 snow and blowing advisories from 2008 to 2008, 303 a year on average, and has not issued the product since 2008; Colorado, Montana and California had the most.

What is a snow and blowing advisory?

An advisory is issued for a hazard less serious than a warning that can still cause inconvenience or danger if people are not careful. The National Weather Service office for each area sets the criteria for this product with its partners.
