Blowing Snow Advisory: what it means and how often it is issued
The National Weather Service issued 100 blowing snow advisories from 2008 to 2008, 100 a year on average, and has not issued the product since 2008; Alaska, Wyoming and Iowa had the most.
What is a blowing snow advisory?
An advisory is issued for a hazard less serious than a warning that can still cause inconvenience or danger if people are not careful. The National Weather Service office for each area sets the criteria for this product with its partners.
