The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has issued a Snow Squall Warning for portions of central and southern Utah. This alert is effective immediately following the detection of a dangerous snow squall near Monroe, moving northeast at approximately 55 mph.

The warning covers the following geographic regions:

  • Central Utah: Sevier County, Southeastern Millard County, and Northern Piute County.
  • Southern Utah: Northwestern Wayne County and Northeastern Beaver County.

Impacted cities and locations include Richfield, Salina, Monroe, Annabella, Loa, Kanosh, Marysvale, Koosharem, Cove Fort, Sevier, Aurora, Elsinore, Glenwood, Sigurd, Joseph, Lyman, Fremont Junction, Fish Lake, Greenwich, and Burrville.

Major transportation routes affected include:

  • Interstate 15: Between mile markers 128 and 148.
  • Interstate 70: Between mile markers 0 and 88.
  • US Route 50: Between mile markers 155 and 158.
  • US Route 89: Between mile markers 171 and 229.
  • Utah Route 24: Between mile markers 16 and 59.

The National Weather Service recommends avoiding or delaying travel until the snow squall passes your location.   • Visibility: Rapidly falling to less than one-quarter mile.
