The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for portions of south central, southwestern, and central Louisiana. This alert is effective immediately following radar-indicated threats in the region.

- Parishes: Acadia, Eastern Cameron, Northwestern Iberia, Eastern Jefferson Davis, Lafayette, Southern St. Landry, Northwestern St. Martin, and Vermilion.
- Impacted Locations: Lafayette, New Iberia, Crowley, Abbeville, Eunice, Jennings, Scott, Breaux Bridge, Rayne, Carencro, St. Martinville, Kaplan, Church Point, Welsh, Lake Arthur, Basile, Iota, Gueydan, Leonville, and Arnaudville.

Residents in the warning area should take the following precautions immediately:
- Seek Shelter: Move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building to protect yourself from damaging winds and flying debris.
- Tornado Safety: Remain alert for possible tornado development. If a tornado is spotted, move at once to a small central room in a sturdy structure.
- Stay Indoors: Continuous cloud-to-ground lightning is occurring with these storms. If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.

At 9:42 PM CST, a line of severe thunderstorms was located from Eunice to 14 miles southwest of Grand Chenier, moving east at 55 mph.
- Wind: Gusts up to 60 mph are expected, which may cause damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
- Hail: Radar indicates hail sizes up to 0.75 inches.
- Lightning: Frequent and continuous cloud-to-ground lightning is present.
- Tornado Threat: Tornadoes are considered possible within this storm system.
