Expected Conditions

For the remainder of Monday night, north winds of 35 knots are expected, increasing to 40 knots with gusts up to 55 knots near Point Couverden. Seas will reach approximately 14 feet with freezing spray and snow. On Tuesday, north winds are forecast to increase to 45 knots with seas building to 15 feet. Conditions will include continued freezing spray and snow accumulation.

The Heavy Freezing Spray Warning is effective immediately and remains in place until 5:00 PM AKST on Tuesday, March 3. Gale conditions are expected to persist through Tuesday night, with winds diminishing to 25 knots late Tuesday. Improved conditions with lower sea heights are expected by Wednesday.
