The warning covers the following specific geographic regions:

  • Southeastern Bartholomew County in central Indiana
  • Southern Decatur County in central Indiana
  • Northeastern Jackson County in south central Indiana
  • Northern Jennings County in southeastern Indiana

Specific locations that will experience flash flooding include Westport, Jonesville, Millhousen, and Grammer.

Residents are advised to “Turn around, don’t drown” when encountering flooded roads, as most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Avoid small creeks, streams, highways, and underpasses that are prone to flooding.
