Prevost Recalls X3-45 Commuter Buses Due to Improperly Installed Seat Anchors
Prevost Car (US) Inc. is recalling approximately 264 commuter buses from model years 2025-2026 because passenger seat anchors may not be properly secured, increasing injury risks.
What Happened
Prevost Car (US) Inc. (Prevost) has issued a recall for certain commuter buses due to a manufacturing defect where passenger seat anchors may have been improperly installed. This defect can lead to the seat fasteners failing to perform as intended during a vehicle operation or collision.
Which Products Are Affected
The recall affects a total of 264 units. The specific models involved are:
- Make/Model: PREVOST X3-45 COMMUTER
- Model Years: 2025 and 2026
What You Should Do
Prevost will notify owners, and authorized service providers will inspect and reinstall the seat anchors as necessary at no cost to the vehicle owner. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed by April 8, 2026. Owners may contact Prevost customer service at 1-866-870-2046 and reference recall number SR26-304. Additionally, Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) for the affected buses are expected to be searchable on the NHTSA website starting February 27, 2026.
Why This Matters
An improperly installed seat anchor may fail to adequately restrain a seat occupant during a crash. This failure significantly increases the risk of injury to passengers in the event of an accident.
