Mercedes-Benz Recalls 2025 eSprinter Vans Over Pedestrian Warning Sound Failure
Daimler Vans USA is recalling 117 Mercedes-Benz eSprinter vehicles because they fail to emit sufficient warning sounds when in reverse, increasing injury risks for pedestrians.
What Happened
Daimler Vans USA, LLC (DVUSA) is recalling certain 2025 Mercedes-Benz eSprinter vehicles due to a compliance failure with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 141, “Minimum Sound Requirements for Hybrid and Electric Vehicles.” The affected vehicles fail to produce sufficient pedestrian warning sounds when operating in reverse.
Which Products Are Affected
- Product: 2025 Mercedes-Benz eSprinter
- Quantity: 117 units
- Recall Number: NHTSA Campaign Number 26V099000
- Manufacturer Number: V3EAVASOU
- Identification: Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on February 20, 2026.
What You Should Do
Owners of affected vehicles will receive interim notification letters regarding the safety risk starting April 17, 2026. A follow-up letter will be sent once the final remedy is ready, which is anticipated later in April 2026. Authorized dealers will update the pedestrian warning sound software free of charge. Consumers with questions may contact DVUSA customer service at 1-877-762-8267.
Why This Matters
Insufficient pedestrian warning sounds may fail to alert individuals of an approaching vehicle. This lack of auditory warning increases the risk of collisions and injuries, particularly when the vehicle is backing up.
