Product Recalls high CPSC · · United States

TheKiddoSpace has recalled approximately 200 Montessori egg puzzle toys because the plastic eggs can block a child's airway, posing a risk of serious injury or death.

What Happened

TheKiddoSpace has issued a recall for its Montessori children’s puzzle egg toys due to a serious choking hazard. The recalled toys are intended for children under three years of age; however, the eggs can block a child’s airway, posing a risk of serious injury or death.

Which Products Are Affected

This recall involves approximately 200 units of TheKiddoSpace-branded Montessori children’s puzzle egg toys. The toys consist of six or 12 white plastic eggs that split in two and are housed in a yellow storage case. Each egg half features a different colored geometric shape designed to fit with its matching pair.

The products were sold online at TheKiddoSpaceStore.com from June 2023 through February 2025 for between $20 and $30. The items were imported by SN Commerce LLC, doing business as TheKiddoSpaceStore, based in Dover, Delaware.

What You Should Do

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled toys and take them away from children. To receive a remedy, consumers must contact TheKiddoSpace at [email protected] or visit their website at www.thekiddospacestore.com.

Specific remedy instructions include:

  • For animal-shaped toys: Consumers must write “RECALLED” in permanent marker on the unit and submit a photo of the marked product to the company to receive a free replacement toy of equal or greater value.
  • For rectangular toys: Consumers must cut the USB cable and submit a photo of the cut cable to receive a free replacement USB cable.

Following these steps, consumers should dispose of the recalled toys or cut cables in accordance with local waste disposal requirements. Note that button cell batteries are hazardous and should be recycled or disposed of following local hazardous waste procedures.

Why This Matters

The size and design of these eggs present a life-threatening risk to toddlers and infants, as they can become lodged in the airway. While no injuries have been reported to date, the potential for choking or death necessitates immediate consumer action.
