Environment Canada has issued a yellow blowing snow advisory for parts of the region. The alert is triggered by the combination of fresh snowfall and intensifying northerly winds, which are expected to create dangerous conditions for residents and travelers.

- Cartwright to Black Tickle

- Wind Speeds: Northerly wind gusts are forecast to reach 60 to 80 km/h on Friday night. The strongest gusts are expected in the Black Tickle area.
- Visibility: Visibility is expected to deteriorate rapidly on Friday night as snowfall continues and winds intensify, leading to widespread blowing snow and near-zero visibility.
Timeline
The advisory is currently in effect and is scheduled to expire at 11:46 AM on February 20, 2026. Several centimetres of snow are expected to accumulate prior to the onset of the strongest winds on Friday night.
