The warning specifically impacts the following geographic regions and locations in Queensland:
- Herbert River to Nash’s Crossing (including Gleneagle Homestead)
- Herbert River downstream of Nash’s Crossing (including Abergowrie Bridge and Halifax)
- Specific monitoring points at Zattas and Blencoe Falls

- Herbert River at Abergowrie Bridge: The river was recorded at 6.72 m and falling at the time of the report. It is expected to remain above the minor flood level of 6.00 m through Friday morning.
- Herbert River at Halifax: The river is currently at 3.76 m and falling, which is below the minor flood level.
Further showers and thunderstorms are forecast across the catchment during the next few days, which may lead to additional river level rises.

The alert is effective immediately as of Thursday, February 19, 2026. River levels are expected to remain elevated above minor flood thresholds overnight Thursday into Friday, February 20.
